Nothing in this world compares to the sheer excitement and rush of pure adrenaline this dynamic performer receives from putting on a show. Kira is a natural performer whose compelling emotion, inner strength, and effortless grace radiate in her work as a singer and actress. Kira cultivated these sensibilities during early childhood from humble beginnings in her birthplace, Chicago, Illinois. It was here, while living on the North Side, that a family friend commissioned Kira’s talents for a voice over to be featured in a piece of original music for a local modern dance performance. “Arise. Arose. Arisen.” These were the words articulated by a poised four-year-old Kira. She felt right at home in the recording studio and hearing her crisp vocals resonate from booming speakers in a large auditorium. This was Kira’s introduction to the performing arts and she knew this would be a lifelong pursuit.
Kira soon relocated with her family to the nearby suburb, Oak Park, Illinois. Here she began elementary school and built a foundation in music and acting. At a local music school, she received voice lessons, began work as a professional voiceover artist, and performed as a member of a five-part harmony group. Throughout high school, Kira continued performing in choirs and musicals winning the adoration of family and friends in the community. She graduated at the top of her class and moved to Boston, Massachusetts to attend the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Upon completing four grueling years of studies in mathematics and architecture at this world renowned institution, Kira decided to try her hand at climbing the corporate ladder. Intelligence, a good sense of humor, and a winning smile made Kira the number one ‘go to girl’ in the software development department at her tech company of choice. However, she longed to return her focus to the performing arts. Kira began writing songs and exploring the music scene in Boston/Cambridge. She soon crossed paths with Toussaint, lead singer of the progressive Hip-Hop band, Red Pill. He dubbed her 'Lady K' and brought her to the stage to add her smooth vocals and feminine touch, providing the missing link that clinched Red Pill’s rising popularity. Red Pill has since dissolved, but musicians on the Boston scene got a taste of Lady K and there was no turning back for this songstress.
Kira has continued to cause quite a buzz performing with hot bands such as Mang Dub, Zion Blood, True Monks of Funk, and State Radio. The resounding response to Kira’s presence and voice is in a word -- beautiful. People love her melodic jazz-based vocals, pure emotion, unique style and air of mystery. Artists such as Jack Terror, Kabir, Juma, and Chad Urmston (State Radio) agree. They have all welcomed Kira as a featured vocalist on their projects. Kira is on the rise and is currently recording her debut album. You can catch her with the NEW electrifying band BQEZ. Keep your eyes on this lady.
